This was IPD at it’s finest. Two greenfield schools being designed and built at the same time with the same team. The collaboration on his project was what we still consider the standard for all projects to measure against. Aiming to meet the EPSB target for mechanical system efficiency, in-slab heating was proposed, which in Education facilities is certainly not the norm. The IPD model allowed the team to employ LEAN practices both in design and in construction enabling EPSB to get two high quality buildings with almost all wished granted.
